Long ago in a deep secluded part of the Elidorian forest lived a mage named Lazarus. He lived alone in a tall tower. If he had actually spoken to anyone in the last 300 years they would have described him as “batshit evil ” and “crazy as balls”. Long ago he was a faithful member of the Elidorian army. As he grew more powerful in the arcane arts he became consumed with the notion that he could create the perfect solider for Elidor. He retired to his tower and preformed experiment after experiment, all failures. Over the years due to the isolation and failure he slowly became totally insane. As this happened his experiments became more and more bizarre. One of his ideas was that if he could combine his arcane power with the fighting ability of a troll he would make the perfect warrior mage. He charmed a troll female and brought her back to his tower. He mated with her and kept careful watch over her until a child was born. After Kaz (as he would be named) was born Lazarus quickly slaughtered the troll female.
But this Experiment too would be a failure. Lazarus tested the child for weeks with the hope of seeing some magical power in him. There was none. Even though the child resembled an elf more than a troll he was totally without any magicial talent. Lazarus left the child deep in the woods to die and returned to his tower to continue with his experiments.
Even though the child was just an infant, he was part troll and managed to survive alone in the wilderness due to his natural instincts. When he was found by an Elidorian scouting party he was covered in blood and eating the entrails of a dead wolf that was lying nearby. At first the rangers thought it was some kind of monster and almost killed it. A cleric that was with the scouting party recognized the child for what it was and stopped the rangers. The cleric who’s name was Grimm Greybeard took the child back to his order and raised him as his own son.
Even though on the outside Kaz resembles an elf, on the inside he is mostly troll. Under the tutelage of the clerics he has learned to control his more base instincts. Unfortunately he still has a problem with impulse control. Although his true father was possibly one of the most evil elves that ever lived, Kaz has a good nature. He hates anything that he considers evil and will try to destroy it whatever the cost.
When Kaz became of age he joined the Elidorian Army. He quickly learned that because of his troll like anger management issues he will most likely never rise above the rank of private. That suits him just fine as long as he gets to kill things.
Secondary Characters:
Grimm Greybeard = Alignment – Neutral, Race – Human, Class – Cleric, God – The Green Man
Grimm was originally a follower of the god TYR. He discovered early on however that the God of Justice has no power in a place where death itself can be reversed in twelve minutes. He renounced TYR and began to follow the Green Man. On an scouting expedition Grimm discovered his adopted son, the half-elf/half-troll Kaz who he has tried to mold into an upsatnding citizen of Elidor with mixed results.
